Sidewinder

The SIDEWINDER sound has been a compilation staple for the last few years, with appearances on the 100 000 selling, genre defying ALL BACK TO MINE mix by GROOVE ARMADA for DMC back in 2000 to the more recent CHILLOUT SESSION SUMMER 2003 for MINISTRY OF SOUND. And his music has been no less of a hit around the world with everyone from NAKED MUSIC & GUIDANCE (US), UNIVERSAL JAZZ (Germany), ZUB MUSIC (Spain), FAT CITY (UK), MUSICA ALTERNATIVA (Portugal) and even global broadcasters like HBO and SKY all licensing SIDEWINDER tracks. This autumn will see the SIDEWINDER profile rising to new heights with the release of his debut album for SOMA RECORDS offshoot FENETIK MUSIC. Lovingly pieced together over the last two and a half years, RESOLUTION is a unique blend of electronic and acoustic sounds, live and programmed beats, quirky samples and subtle synthesiser lines. SIDEWINDER has deejayed and played live at clubs and backrooms in the UK, Europe and beyond including FABRIC & THE END in London, TROUBLE in Edinburgh, LIFESTYLE in Aberdeen, TRIPTYCH03 festival in Glasgow and Edinburgh, FOOD in Brussels, WARM in Eindhoven and T IN THE PARK. He was also the resident at The Arches Sunday Social chill out session. Earlier this year SIDEWINDER spent 3 weeks in São Paulo as part of a collaborative contemporary music project organised by the British Council in Brazil and The Arches in Glasgow that involved 16 Scottish and Brazilian musicians writing and performing original music together. He also played some deejay gigs as well. This project will be touring Scotland and England in late November and December this year. To promote the launch of RESOLUTION, SIDEWINDER will be playing live dates with a 4-piece band in GLASGOW and EDINBURGH in mid October – further live dates are available.
