Tony's new release on Soma will be out Monday 7th October

A. Tight Rope
B1. Call Of The Ancients
B2. Lost Treasure

Tony Thomas returns to Soma with a fantastic three tracker of funky tribal house music. Tony is on a roll right now and you will most likely find one of his first rate recordings in the boxes of a cross section of DJ’s. Currently house, techno and progressive spinners love his tribal grooves.

Tony is a very busy man and one the most respected and prolific house music producers on the scene right now. This is his third release on Soma and they just keep getting better.

On the A Side ‘Tight Rope’ is classic Tony Thomas – a rolling conga driven groove is underpinned with sci-fi chants and jungle funk, this firing cut is sure to please lovers of Tony’s style. Keeping the tribal feel is the equally excellent ‘Call of the Ancients’ with its big driving bassline and African chants. Finally ‘Lost Treasure’ is in the same vein but with a more melodic dubby feel. All in all this is a great package from a great producer.

Thursday, 3rd October 2002 Soma Compilation 8
The all new Soma Compilation 8 is out 28th October

On this collection new guys like Sobek, Master H and Tony Thomas line up next to Soma heavyweights Percy X, Funk D’Void and Slam. From across the Atlantic there are tracks from H-Foundation and Common Factor. One of the UK’s premier electro funksters Keith Tenniswood pops up with a couple of remixes, firstly with Andrew Weatherall as Two Lone Swordsmen in the ALBUM EXCLUSIVE dub of Slam featuring Dot Allison’s ‘Visions’ and also turning in a solo Radioactive Man mix for Percy X’s ‘Time To Jack’. Further remixes come from Silicone Soul with their Darkroom Dub of Universal Principles ‘Latin Stroll’, Envoy revamps his Sexdrive track into a turbo charged sex bomb, there’s also Samuel L Sessions fizzing Juice rework of the mighty Diabla and finally the fantastic Christian Smith & John Selway remix of all-time Slam classic ‘Stepback’. The result is a compilation of the very best house, techno and electro that money can buy.

The artwork for the compilation has been done in conjunction with a new initiative Soma has developed with Glasgow School of Art, from a collection of several different creative ideas one student has been selected to cultivate his idea of a Soma alphabet. The front cover shows characters that have been selected and a specially encrypted message, which only those with the code will be able to decipher.

Download the Dingbat font from the Soma website on 28th October.

B1: Time To Jack (Original)
B2 : Club X

Hot on the heels of his electro-funk masterpiece 'Where's The Music'
Percy X returns with one of the best tracks from the album 'Time To
Jack'.

Originally this track appeared on the CD of the album only. Now
vinyl junkies have the opportunity to pick up this breakin‚ cut.
Radioactive Man aka Two Lone Swordsman Keith Tenniswood has
delivered a mighty slice of machine funk in his meaty remix. This
scorching, twisted electro monster has the biggest bass you‚ll hear
this year.

On the flip we are treated to the excellent original version and
discofied album favourite 'Club X'. This is another great package
from the X-Man with every electrocuted track a winner.

Master H 'Magic K' (Soma 120)

Tracklist
A. Magic K
B1. From Here To the Space
B2. From Here To the Space (Bonus Beats)

Soma‚s french playboy and connoisseur of fine house music returns to
the label with his debut album 'Thirteen'. Master H is the
flamboyant producer and designer DJ who is setting Paris and New
York alight with his unique brand of funky flavoured house. He is a
rising star on the scene and a DJ of excellent technical ability.

As a prelude to 'Thirteen' we are re-releasing his classic cut,
'Magic K'. This track was originally released on the B side of
Master H's debut Soma single 'Mayflower', the track proved to be a
sleeping giant and went onto be charted by DJ's across the board.
For it‚s re-release we‚ve beefed up the production on the electro
tinged house monster. Also included on the twelve is the all new and
deeply funky 'From Here To The Space' and additional 'Bonus Beats'.

The great video for Magic K was made via the 4 Minute Wonders scheme www.4minutewonders.com) by Dougal Wilson, the creator of the award
winning Tennents 'Murder' advert. Check it out here.
