Tuesday, 2nd December 2003 Reviews for Lady Killer
Tech-House page Sureplayer Percy X & Mark Broom 'Lady Killer' A heavy-duty techno pairing here, so it's quite surprising to hear the loopy house-driven nature of the track they've produced. With these two at the controls the result is always gonna be somewhat techy, and this is a proper groovy mixture of techno attitude with house sensibilities. the layered pads and keys add atmosphere, whilst the mad, pitched up beats give more energy than a crate of lucozade sport. the two other tracks are full on techno, so unless you like it hard it's got to be 'Lady Killer' all the way, and it's worth checking this twelve for that track alone.

Monday, 11th November 2002 PERCY X 'ON A DAY'
Released 16.12.02 A. On A Day (Remix) B1. Dark N Sharp B2. On A Day (Remake) Man of the moment and Soma’s master of aural espionage Percy X is back with the release of one of the most sought after tracks on his recent album ‘Where’s The Music’. ‘On A Day’ was previously only available on the CD version, and with the amount of requests we have received about it’s release, we are happy to finally oblige! On the A Side we have the ‘On A Day’ remix which was done by Percy X and Mark Broom – this future retro cut caused quite a stir this summer when we mailed out the ultra limited teaser promo’s to selected DJ’s. On the flip we’ve included the growling ‘Dark N’ Sharp’, this is where Percy is at when he is Djing – funky driving techno which he splices with effects and turntable trickery, this track was also a big favourite with Ben Sims when released on the vinyl of the album. Finally ‘On A Day’ has been remade and improved for the dancefloor, deep, emotional Glasgow techno with a twist of Detroit influenced soul. A future Percy X classic and office favourite! The X man is fresh from completing two electrocuted remixes of Death In Vegas’ killer ‘Hands Around My Throat’, with his live version of ‘For The Throat Mix’ recently ripping up the dancefloor at the Soma party at the Arches.
Tuesday, 23rd July 2002 PERCY X 'TIME TO JACK' (Soma 122)
PERCY X 'TIME TO JACK' (Soma 122) Out 19th August Tracklisting A: Time To Jack (Radioactive Man Remix) B1: Time To Jack (Original) B2 : Club X Hot on the heels of his electro-funk masterpiece 'Where's The Music' Percy X returns with one of the best tracks from the album 'Time To Jack'. Originally this track appeared on the CD of the album only. Now vinyl junkies have the opportunity to pick up this breakin‚ cut. Radioactive Man aka Two Lone Swordsman Keith Tenniswood has delivered a mighty slice of machine funk in his meaty remix. This scorching, twisted electro monster has the biggest bass you‚ll hear this year. On the flip we are treated to the excellent original version and discofied album favourite 'Club X'. This is another great package from the X-Man with every electrocuted track a winner.
