CURRENT GENE FARRIS TOP 15)
ARTIST TITLE LABEL
1. KAO Philly Earresistable Music Vol 5
The European Underground House scene is beginning to gan serious structure. You can hear it on the phunky deep
track featuring, “KAO.” Very good! The
remix Kanzyani is rich and soulful. This E.P is a must play.
2. H-FOUNDATION Passage of Time SOMA
This record is by far the best release H-Foundation has done. Passage of Time shows the true genius of
H-Foundation. The warmth and fullness of this EP is
the definition of a proper House production. Well done guys!
3. ONIONZ & BLACKKAT Together 4 Ever (cdr)
This is vocal House done at its best, by the best: Mark Bell & Onionz feat vocal by one of House’s top vocalist of all time.
4. DJ GREGORY (MAW remix) Tropical Soundclash Defected
Tropical Soundclash is one of the most versatile records around. I heard Carl Cox play a harder mix and Roger
Sanchez play a soulful mix. My favorite is the
Masters At Work mix. It’s very sexy, adult Dance music.
5. LANCE DI SARDI feat Maurissa Waterslide Chez
The irresistible groove of Lance Di Sardi’s Waterslide has been hot in the boxes of DJ’s like Migual Migs, DJ Deep, and
me - Gene Farris. This record is a
true player.
6. BEHIND THE GROOVE Calling Your Name Farris Wheel Limited
This is great U.S. House music done extremely well by the calibration of Charles Spencer and Nick Santillan (BTG). My
favorite player on this EP is the
Jay-J Hernandez mix. It is silky, smooth, soulful, and very, very nice.
7. ONIONZ Earthpeople 2000 Dance (cdr)
This is a tight remix of an old House classic. If the original was before your time, then young kids still pick this up.
Earthpeople 2000 Dance is good, phunky,
and guaranteed to fill the floor.
8. G CLUB BANDA SONORA Pressure Cooker Defected
The guitar mix is my player on this double pack thriller by Defected. THe record has a total of six very well mixes. Pick
one, they are all good!
9. KID CREOLE & THE COCONUTS Stool Pigeon Universal
(Boris DLugosh & Michi Lange mixes)
Phat and extremely well produced. This EP has been in my box for 2 months! I can’t leave it out... now only if I could
pronounce the guys’ names who made
it!
10. LUSSAN & SHUKIE v.s. RICH MEDINA Dance 4 Life Invincis
This is classic vocal speech over word, but done very well. I love it and so does the crowd!
11. EDDIE AMODOR feat NINA LARES Mochico Treat Mochico
Eddie Amodor has the formula for success in the studio. This track sends the dancefloors into overdrive! The vocals in
the main mix are beautiful. Nina Lares
is one to watch for.
12. TONY SENGHORE & JONENE Where’s The Bullet MF Chicago
Jazz House done well by Tony & my good friend, Jonene. I’m not charting this because they are my friends, but
because its a good music. The track is very
full and vocal. Two thumbs up!
13. IZ & DIZ Midas Touch (Atlantic Star) (cdr)
Wow! This is the best remake of this record I’ve ever heard. If I could sign this to my label I would. Phenominal
production by Iz & Diz! Someone please
pick this up!
14. GENE FARRIS & ONIONZ Alien Instructions (cdr)
I don’t wanna spoil to much on this track, but the bass on this is so phat you may wanna hold your ears. Chicago
meats Queens. Alien Instructions will be
released on my upcoming full length album.
15. DERRICK CARTER Dance & Swing Classic
This is my favorite song on Derrick’s latest album. He came through with a solid album and genuine peace of work.
Chicago is proud.
